THE GREEN is a block of programming that presents original series and documentary premieres about the earth's ecology and concepts of 'green' living that balance human needs with responsible environmental stewardship."
These frames were part of some preliminary formal investigations into what the programming block could look and feel like. Our goal was to introduce conceptual connections between objects and scenes from everyday life, using juxtapositions of photographs and/or footage within a given frame. For instance: a man with a leaf blower paired with a shot of a straw broom; a nuclear cooling tower paired with a shot of a thermostat; a grove of date palms paired with a cell phone tower made to look like a date palm. This approach is grounded in the notion that the world we live in is made up of innumerable connections, some very literal and direct, and some surprisingly odd and unpredictable.
